At around 0635am, Lamu town and its environs lost power supply. This was due to collapse of three (3) towers at Mlihoi area on the 220kV Garsen-Lamu Transmission Line Project that connects Garsen and Lamu substations. Mlihoi is approximately 5km from Lamu substation. Investigations are still ongoing to establish the root cause.
Nonetheless, power supply to customers within the affected area has since been restored through an alternative route.
We are currently working on restoring the collapsed towers.
