The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) energized its Sotik – Bomet line yesterday. This line will increase electricity access in Bomet County and its surrounding areas as well as provide high voltage power that will transform this area into an attractive location for agro-based and general industries.

KETRACO’s Suswa substation was energised on 5th June 2015 following successful pre- commissioning tests. This will greatly enhance the National Grid stability and minimise national power blackouts, ensuring improved power supply.

The national electricity grid will receive a meaningful boost through the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited’s (KETRACO) construction of its 132kV Meru – Isiolo project; a solution geared towards meeting the country’s power demand. This project, part of the Company’s energized Nanyuki – Isiolo – Meru electrification project, involves the construction of a 26km 132kV single circuit line from Meru substation to the new Isiolo substation with a 23MVA transformer.
