KETRACO has put in place an elaborate plan to fast-track the expansion of electricity transmission infrastructure to serve the nation’s growing electricity demands. We have identified for implementation on priority basis a total of 2013km of 132kV lines, 1620km of 220kV lines, 2,434km of 400kV lines and 612km of 500kV HVDC lines. The scope of implementation includes design, supply, installation and commissioning of equipment including transformers and sub-station switchgear.
With more transmission lines being completed and commissioned, we expect to substantially increase the amount of power that will be transmitted through the network, impacting positively on the country.
